really thought of losing you call the order the game Board of Education meeting for March 28th first 23 I'm just going to open by thanking everybody for your patience and cooperation with the weather related delays and stuff this meeting was initially scheduled for the 14th we actually had to hold two committee meetings Pryor just to get everything in that was snowed out or previously scheduled so here we are a couple minutes late please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance I pledge allegiance United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all it is 6:35 we will open public input from 6:35 to 7:05 we currently don't have any public so if somebody comes in in the next half hour we will give them that opportunity if they so desire can I have a motion to approve the consent agenda so moved any anybody want anything pulled from the consent agenda or have concerns about the scribblers errors all right seeing done all those in favor any opposed carries 80 that report of the board chair I had one written up for last week that I had to come play rewrite because lots of stuff changed so again thank everyone for your patience and your cooperation besides our board meetings we also had to reschedule voting for The District's that will now be happening next Tuesday March 8 it is still 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. all Wards in Keene vote at the rec center would like to urge people to come out and support public schools are we do have our operating budget up for vote next week we so have contracts recognizing our teachers and our tutors Association has a very important for continuing what we do for students here we have four candidates up for three votes for the board of education on those multiple sources of information on those four candidates available online that's Keene Sentinel as some there's a candidate Forum that you can still view think you can still view on the district Facebook page and there are podcasts on wkbk featuring all of the four candidates a different times with that election that does mean that Rosanna this is your last meeting with us so thank you very much for what you've done for us for the last three years you've been a valued voice here and we are going to miss you and I'm glad you were able to come to this last meeting that was kind of touch and go to keep rescheduling things on we also have to reschedule our reorganization meeting which was going to be next week but we can't hold that until we know the results of the election which we won't know next so now we are going to apologize in advance to finance and Facilities were going to squash it in between your meetings just like we did with the special meeting last month I really don't think we're going to need more than like 20 minutes for every organization meeting board members watch for a query on what committees and liaison assignments you're interested and next year I will be sending that also to the to folks who are up for re-election go ahead and fill those out just to get us a head start on that be clear that April 4th for the reorg meeting yes nobody April 4th at approximately what we do for the last one did we schedule it for a full hour right now 46 in case right now will schedule it for 6 anticipate probably 6:15 yes it is yep and I'll send out reminders as it gets closer add a reminder for 5 facilities your meeting on April 4th is at Wheelock school yeah Chris because it's going to be at we like school when it's going to be up in the media center and stuff so it might he will probably take a little bit longer because we're going to get explained in everything so this won't be a quick half-hour meeting for facilities that's okay we'll plan for that will still posted at 6 because we can posted early we can't start until the post of time we don't want to accidentally posted too late. But thanks for the reminder and I'll put that in when I remind everybody in a couple weeks and finally I do want to mention this doesn't show on our agenda because it's a non public action but in non-public tonight will be will be Reese we will be receiving slow down we're not that far behind the nominations for contracts for the 23 24 years reviewing them with Administration and taking action on I know folks like to know when that's happening so that will be part of tonight's meeting is just in on public session and that's all I have for the report of the chair report of the superintendent's student representative was not able to be with us tonight Catherine Google due to the weather change in the schedule she had a previous conflict with tonight's meeting so we have no soup no student representative report we do have a superintendent report, Lake George to cover. highlights that I was going to bring out to the begin with i m I do want to continue to go on record just to commend our building and grounds crew last week's event was heavier than I think most people were expecting and they did a tremendous job of addressing the needs and all of our building throughout the district I mean they just did a great great job likewise I would offer that same Commendation to the city of Keene who I thought did a pretty marvelous job of keeping our roads pretty safe and get do the sidewalks at help our kids be able to walk to and from school very different conversation if you look at some of our sending districts who send in to Keene for either middle school or High School some of those districts got upwards of 40 in of snow maybe even a little bit about that and it was significantly more impactful not just at their School site but even on their Town roadways and individual driveway so so over all kudos to the folks who would really a lot of the work to make sure our parking lots are sidewalks our buildings were ready to receive students when we were able to reopen on Thursday as result of the storm in the event that took place last week Tuesday and Wednesday before you move on from that we should probably add a thank you to the staff especially at the rec center that has to accommodate the change in voting dates would absolutely go and that's exactly where I was going next so you beat me to it again kudos to the the staff at the rec center who were very accommodating with our shift in our district voting for The elected positions that George mentioned as well as our operating budget and 2 collective bargaining agreements that will be in front of Voters next week on Tuesday want to give a shout out to the moderator who met early with folks that she needed to collaborate with to make a determination whether or not to move forward with the voting or to postpone which she is the sole authority to make that determination but she sought input from others before making that determination including attending a heavy weather briefing at with the National Weather Service before she finally made that decision so I thought she did a really marvelous job of looking at it one of the few times where I get to return the favor and say to others who I didn't say to me I'm glad I don't have your job today so that was good I would regard to the superintendent report I'm going to hand it over to both Brian and been the assistant superintendents to go ahead and present the superintendent report for board this month so Ben and Brian all yours speak to the heads-up I love doing that I'll meet you there before as always is fairly comprehensive at the the initial the opening of the report highlights scores from both the winter from both of fall in the winter to comparative of the Keene School District as well as our other school districts that you can take a look at that I'm going to Mordor still out the egg committee where we can unpack some of that some of that data in the future as always there is updates in their relative to what do I owe this year was to be more accountable around safety procedures and following through on our drill schedule so staff were given a drill schedule as to follow that I'm so as you can see in the report of our schools are doing reverse evacuations shelter-in-place full evacuations have been keeping up with those drill so our students are prepared in case of emergency there's things in there PD and other initiatives within the within the district 11 significant piece is there's a section on the legislation is a hyperlink in there which I think is 200 pieces legislation at the house so if you have an interest you can read through those but there are some some there that will significantly impact education if they go through others are little bit more trivial and perhaps borderline nonsensical so you can read those on your own but they are is a hyperlink in there for those two hundred pieces of legislation just touching upon the ledge legislation be so I don't want to give the superintendent too much credit on this but I'm part of the the ask that is at Educators don't often have access to voicing their concerns on different pieces of legislation that's going to impact them directly so it's it's a smart move to have it so in your face not too the board but also throw all of our conversations throughout the essay you because any piece of that legislation can either change education for the better or for the worst and it's very important to have our Educators as advocates but also for our any members in as board members I know you all get this and you know how important it can be so that's awesome little bit of Kudos over there for the superintendent report keeping that alive and as Brian said anything that you have Amazon you can simply ask and we can provide those answers for you the only thing I'll add to that legislative fees because we spent a little time as the New Hampshire school Association yesterday going through it of the 200-plus pieces of legislation that are on that document about 50 a little over 50 of them have already been killed in 10 in obedient to legislators the proper terminology so they're dead on the floor right now there are over 70 that have I have moved to ought to pass which means if it started in the house it'll cross over to the Senate if it started in the Senate Italy cross over to the house and then there's a whole bunch that I would if I was going to give a label I would say they're in purgatory right now because I haven't made a determination one way or another so color coded you can see what the color mean Edna do you know where Bill stands a question that gets asked of us often as we go from District to district is what is the true impact of the education Freedom accounts AK a good indication is that there are 13 pieces of legislation on that particular topic alone do I just let that sit for a while I mean it's a it's a big issue it's not an issue that you need to New Hampshire it's an issue that is in front of federal legislation as well and there are some bills that I think we would absolutely want to say that sounds like a good idea there are other bills that sound like no I don't know that that makes I sent the unfortunate piece for us as elected officials in as administrators who hold positions we can't direct people on what they should how they should weigh on a piece of legislation that would be misusing our Authority and misusing our power we can't say hey look build number for 78296 I think is a piece of crap go and you want to voice your opinion on that like we cannot do we have to allow people the ability to express their beliefs but we can certainly provide them the vehicles to do that and to provide them with the actual documents that are being can for law for potential loss so I say that and thank you been thank you Brian you guys were off that really well earlier today oh sorry last update from the superintendent report section on behalf of the administration not only at the central office but throughout the Keene School District we wanted to say thank you to roll for your service we absolutely wish you all the best in your next chapter as you move forward of it really appreciate your time and effort for not just the school district but for the students in the families and I think you're Rob standing committees building an ancillary Services Mister Roberts nothing except like I said you were going to be B I would like to go next week next meeting and refresh my memory that's for looking at what's hopefully the next phase of talking about what we're doing next for the wood part of it's looking at the finishing up of the second phase because we went in there last time the media center didn't have anything in their functional and we want be able to the show what's going on that one the little tag team for that last item so activity we crammed in a lot but we got it done are crushed principal at Franklin Elementary came and spoke with us this evening and shared with us the great work. all of the faculty and staff has been doing the past two years from now in there year 3 but with a overcoming having been identified by the as you know a low performer that was identified back in 2017 2018 school year and when you are identified as a school you've got two years to show improvements year one was 2018 then we had covid so thankfully that did not count so year to was the 2122 Year Mr Crest provided a really excellent slideshow with renewal preciate this with graphs and charts and we will get that slideshow into the drive so that the rest of the board can see it and in in a nutshell they are making really good games with with math scores with identifying that students do well with small group learning mr. president that was once heard of Silver Lining with covid is they discovered that students critically the elementary level really gain their knowledge and their skills and can grow much more rapidly in small groups and the other thing that they were incredibly hard on was building more knowledge and understanding among the families and the parents with what is necessary for their child to learn and gain and improve their already have a strong family Community culture there but what was missing prior to that was that deeper understanding of okay what do you have to do at home how can you help support your child so that they are even more successful at school so I can't remember what Eric said you know we we were congratulating him in the team but he said you know we're not out of the woods yet I think that was his his phrase so obviously there's still more to achieve but it was really encouraging and what else are we so received a CD update from Mike Smith for the high school and working towards you know the new grading system what was encouraging to hear is they've got a very structured timeline where they're going to approach this slow and steady really work towards ensuring okay love the faculty of got you know their ducks in a row with understanding how we switch over to the point system working to send to regular discuss and some presentations so that all stakeholders have a deeper understanding of it and you know are more welcoming to it and embracing it we have a field trip request are we going to do that separately jog my memory I'm getting now okay thank you again and then we also review Food King High School Academy fund there is several items this year that should be in your drive if he's not looked at it already and then our last item this evening and this is where a George will speak to some of this as well Richard town from Treasure Cruise center came and spoke with us about the construction trades program area and the certifications that are needed for somebody to teach woodworking and just the challenge of finding you know somebody to fill that position that meets the certifications and Richard was very creative and came up with some different approaches with how we offer an intro to carpentry class and we can then hire teachers that as long as they're teaching two of these classes provided they've got certification at the construction trades they can then also teach this woodworking it's all you know approved by the state that's appropriate protocol there's nothing that's been done towards hear what Mr Town also presented to us this Eve is with this change or I should say addition and Staffing even though we've already got the budget all bundled up and that's what the voters are going to be voting on next week he worked with mr. Roar with the finance Siri with moving salary money from Carson or 11 which is the high school to Carson or 12 which is the career center and this evening the headboard going to recommended to bring this to the full board for consideration and then we'll be ultimately reviewing it at our full board meeting in April do you want to add any yeah I'm sitting in there the problem that the career center is trying to solve is currently the intro level construction trades classes woodworking woodworking has a very strong art component in the position as currently describe and staffed is stopped through the high school rather than the career center which means that the teacher needs to meet the State High School accreditation guidelines most of the applicants that they're getting over in the career center r construction trade spokespeople from the industry career center CT e accreditation is very different basically requires you to be very experienced in your field have the certifications in your field that sort of thing and they have had people that would meet those koala qualifications but they don't meet the qualifications for Enter The Woodworking so his proposal is to expand the program by adding an intro to carpentry which would be a career center a CTE class they would be able to their con they can hire somebody to teach that class and if they structure it they were done before construction class for construction blocks in a semester so the proposed structure would be these two teachers would each teach new construction blocks including the main carpentry and construction class in the carpentry class and then they would teach one woodworking class because there is that much interest in the building in The Woodworking class but because the majority of their Goodwill is career center blocks they would meet the career center certification and it would be able to hire somebody from industry for that position there is not as I understand it particular cost two of the districts this was a little problematic because we already passed our budget and we're hoping the voters will pass in 2 weeks but they want to do this there one week they want to do this next year but it would involve a shift from the currently unfilled woodworking staff listen to the new intro to carpentry position so we didn't feel the committee is recommending it at 3 nothing vote but we didn't feel that we could present it properly tonight without giving folks a have to review it so we're asking Richard town and dr. Gallagher to bring the information to finance through Tim just to show us how that transfer is happening and confirm that that's really how its work and I'm working to bring it to the full board on April 11th for consideration here I have one more thing George to wait we also discussed that in the interim until the full board the jobs can be posted but clearly designated it's an anticipated opening that way they can start to you know receive resumes and interest so I just wanted to make that point just so folks don't think that were bottlenecking hair we're just making sure we're doing due diligence I led you astray you fits in the agenda for you to make your motion during this section going to the field trip field trip request is for north campus to take their students to several of the museums in Springfield Mass the date has changed so now the anticipated date for what doctor never told us she believes it's March 28th so the committee recommend recommended this at a vote of 320 to have the guilt map for north campus with the anticipated date of March 28th we're going to call that emotion can I get a second is in your drive is it's a day trip we have to prove it cuz it's going out of state but it's basically taking the north campus students to the Museum's down in Massachusetts I believe with Jaclyn said was by a vote of 320 the vacation committee is recommending the full board approved the field trip on March 28th all those in favor and opposed is 80 I do want to mention no nevermind I don't need to mention that mr. right all right good evening to pylons one quick thing Alonso that's you guys to mention will be in Wheelock on the 4th following facilities in the other meeting forgot my the pylons. file in the drive for about 12 or 13 budget transfer items I didn't know anybody that questions on that but first I'll make the move to it was information also the key Board of Education move to approve the budget transfer report dated January 2023 as informational any questions on that I was in favor any apples Carrie's 80 oh I was just going to as far as the Cheshire curse and I'll provide my update later but I think it's fantastic of what Richards doing and what he's bringing to you we're working on it. I'll I meant for that one but I'll definitely support that Ensure all right Personnel misra super Cortana this is our last meeting and we got through a whole bunch and we're very excited got it and we will go by recommendations and non-public policy we do have a couple first read policies I 8bg home education instruction and JayJay J access to public programs by non-public charter schools in home educated pupils primarily this has to do with access to school programs for homeschool students has been changes in the whenever the Law changes we have to go back and make sure their policies are compliant and that's what these both are hopefully we'll be bringing them as a pair to the next meeting ready to vote on the free to take a look if you want otherwise we'll go over and then a bunch of 2nd Reed policies on behalf of the how many people do we have in college at least 30 or 40 recommendations wait I wrote it down for nothing sorry I haven't written down behalf of the policy committee that the full board approve policy bedah public participation at board meetings as presented as pretty self-explanatory the law changed significantly regarding public input at public board meetings not just our meetings but the most governmental meetings we had to adjust our policies to match it we spent a good deal time beating it up to Matt's not just the new law but also how we try and apply the new law to make sure it's compliant and that's what you're looking at here questions concerns all those in favor any opposed carries 80 really convenient if I could close public but but I can't cuz that would fit really well but it's got another 3 minutes to go on behalf of the policy committee moved to approve policy jebb assignment of pupils as presented and this is the policy and relay procedure that applies to incoming kindergarteners and how the administration places them and what needs to happen if they need to move to a school other than their geographical location calls for this was separated by Ben White there was input from all of the elementary principles on this again the education committee spent a good amount of time working on this one before they sent it over to policy questions concerns all those in favor any opposed carries 80b half of the policy committee move to approve jld BB Suicide Prevention and response as presented again I'm self-explanatory we have this on the books but there were changes in state law one of the primary changes is the requirement that the suicide hotlines go on the student IDs Administration knew this was coming and they have it on this year's student IDs already and then there's more clarification on in building supports and responses to concerns about suicide questions concerns all those in favor any opposed carries 80 on behalf of the policy committee I recommend approval by the full Board of policy gdbbs procedure to accompany tdbbs benefits King school lunch employees the lunch employees are kitchen staff did not have is a traditional CBA agreement their pay and benefits are covered by a policy and our policy manual it's gone over by our food services director with Tim Roar Linda Paris yearly they go up make sure it's aligned with industry expectations and uncovers any concerns have been brought up and that's what this is is the proposed changes for this year which are not significant to mention one yes please do the significant change they were our last group that didn't pay 20% of their health insurance premium and given where we are we rip the Band-Aid off and went to 80% in that group the good news is that our health insurance is going to come in I think about 1.7% increase don't have it official so that's not if I knew it was official I would tell you but that's what's being recommended the boy so I'm just waiting for them to approve that which is under so it's a good year to make that change pretty excited about it but we've been slowly getting in there and just saw the opportunity just to make it so been able to do that because we've had to increase the wages they're so dramatically just before covid we were starting at 8 bucks an hour we start at $10 an hour and most people make 15 + and it all up from there and that's a huge change cuz this is our lowest paid group in the district unless you know we've had trouble hiring so it was a needed change as well alright concerns commentary all those in favor any opposed carries 80 and now we will officially close the public input. On behalf of Oye on behalf of the policy committee recommended approval policy dafm3 procurement I think you all did recognize the d a f designation by this point these are the daf family of Pi these are the ones that are recommended by the state to ensure compliance with Grant distribution and similar State oversight we went through them at the insistence of the state pretty mistakenly about 3 years actually three to five years ago as a two-year process and some of them came back due to again changes in legislation this is one of them went through finance committee to make sure that we're still in compliance in the still matches everything else we do and narratives comments concerns questions all those in favor and you posed carries 80 finally on behalf of the policy committee recommended policy daf Dash Grant budget reconciliation same thing identical to what I just said about daf 3 and hopefully we don't get these again for a couple years we are all caught up on the latest legal changes to these policies Thor commentary all those in favor those carries 80 thank you to the finance committee for looking at these things again because I know they're a pain alright liaison reports I know some of these are just joining adorable what happened because of the weather but we'll get through all of those that we can Keene High School. Do you have anything I've got a couple things as well thank you John so Keene high school tomorrow there is a combination day and which you have the ninth grade taking beds going to the church career center to learn about the numerous opportunities that are there which I think is an amazing move 10th grade has PSATs 11th grade has SATs and 12th is doing some surveying thought there was quite the Innovative way that the administration and Leadership High School dressed address of me to prioritize and ensure that the church career center was put front-and-center an appropriate time so thank you very much for that this year there were four teachers nominated for New Hampshire educator of the year so that's it process spring Sports now with the melting of the snow are slated and in beginning to go on this this week so getting started on those if you're looking for dates relative to the prom drama Etc please reference the Blackbird Beacon that's very robust on dates the last issue that came out and if you're looking to attend the next principal at advisory meeting I think I messed up the title but it is on 419 the George always has a few more things I want to promote the senior art show that's happening Thursday from 6 to 8 board members probably saw some of that artwork on your way in 30 on display out there it's always a fabulous show and is over a dozen students displaying works this year and some really impressive about their house at 6 to 8 I'm here in the high school this Thursday combination to the Jazz Band for attending the Clark Terry jazz festival over the University of New Hampshire last weekend that is the Premier jazz band High School level Festival in the state of New Hampshire been going on for about 35 years until he passed away Clark Terry was actually the artist-in-residence for that this is believe it or not the first time the high schools ever better than it even though it's existed for 35 years so credit to Joe Conte for making that happen for the high school and even though it was their first time not only going to this Festival but going to any adjudicated Festival in their size I saw the the performances are graded on the school size they had the top rated trombone section and we're one of the top two bands in their category so well done jazz band and it's it's really good to see you music tomorrow and getting back out there Nostalgia this year is April 14th and 15th I only mention that specifically because that's about a month earlier than usual so folks that are listening that like to go to Nostalgia you when I get on your radar already that's the big performance spring performance from the the bands in the choirs and some of the individual students I can't possibly go through the winter sports because their sports teams had a really successful season this year but I did want to mention the boys and girls hockey teams not only making the playoffs this year but moving on to the second round both of them before losing to some pretty strong teams they had both both teams had a really good season this year Emily graduations remains June 9th even though we had an actual real snow day last week that goes on to the calendar there was one day built into the calendar that allows the high school to keep all of their scheduled dates the same so graduates still be on June 9th all right career center mr. right all right some things you guys already touched upon which is which is great but you mentioned Woodworking and Arbor tree they had it's been awhile since I've brought an update but the good news is is Richard in a team have made progress in hiring but there are still some positions open they do have a lot of activity with applicants other than woodworking so plug there seems to be a plan to do something else which is fantastic on a positive note gentleman Christopher fauci overtired for horticulture I mentioned the career exploration day tomorrow for for freshman soft for freshmen and sophomores and juniors take that piece hats and SATs they recently did a photo shoot today at the career center taking photo the students working very slabs to use for promotion materials to recognition Highway visuals excetera there is a skillsusa competition taking place in several students will be competing at the next level list of winners will be released after the competitions are completed a new Regional agreement will need to be drawn up within the next year with the regional partner which is Fall Mountain to Monadnock just we talked about this before and kind of different settings but it's an important requirement to make some changes to include calendar alignment for everybody and possibly I'm in Bedding credit for CCC courses region number 13 advisory committee meets on the 19th at 9 a.m. in Cheshire and finally the annual Friends of the career center Cheshire Career Center event will take place on May 4th at 6 p.m. where the the new Coppertone will be dedicated so a lot of work by the team it's pretty awesome to see with her they're doing their thanks Ron doing an excellent job getting there it doesn't show for us because we're not out there but he's doing a lot to promote this to sending schools as well which has been lacking in years past so that's good to see you as well I can Middle School in the settings I can't help it I'm going to congratulate the Middle School drama club for the performance son of Pinocchio no yeah that's basically the junior version of the Pinocchio show they have a lot of good performers this year most of them are very top-heavy so a lot of them turn on to the high school but they didn't know it was well done and they have a ton of Music performances and sports events coming up so keep an eye on those schedules Franklin School mr. amrod thank you I've called on Eric Chris a lot lately and he came and gave a wonderful presentation about how they how the school dramatically improved over the past four years despite covid getting the math scores up the reading scores okay that could be a lot better and the special education scores are phenomenal improving much faster than than the average keep in mind that we have a very high portion of special ed students there a very high proportion of English language Learners and a very high proportion of free lunch at at at Franklin and so that's the day was given by Erica presentation during her education committee and I hope you're well at least read the notes cuz there's some really good stuff Happening Here There and hopefully we can apply that in other schools that have some of the same and thanks Riley Simon's school is Lancaster is not Hero by Skip Fowler Randy I'm sorry Mister mileo Fuller School Rebecca is not here Wheelock Mister Roberts now the schedule for next week I thought they were supposed to be next week never currently an email went out and saying that and so I can understand how people were confused I do want to point out if you look up on YouTube of the or it's on the district Facebook page Wheelock several Wheelock teachers did their own version of a Backstreet Boys song which they rewrote the lyrics to to be about the students in the school that's actually pretty fabulous it's definitely worth your time to look it up I think it's in there Center Wheelock teachers but it does it's also on the district Facebook page worth your time and Jonathan Daniels Community Education The Miz versus Cortana with them but I know that Victoria farrington's working on for Grants so she's like always working away and getting making sure that everything is running well and I didn't get to speak to Joanne but I see the miracle in my son everyday that is singing now and had could only speak for the year and a half ago so those Miracles are taking place there and I look forward to seeing more nhsp a master ormerod thank you I see we also have an agenda item under or is this it is this the only one okay as you pointed out previously there's like three different versions of the agenda going because the rescheduling so you might not be looking at the same thing that I am okay so I started to give half of my report last time and I'd like to can continue my report because I had some besides I wanted to share with his board and kind of a request for perhaps setting or redefining the expectations of the of the NHS. play a song so I have been looking and tracking legislation fairly randomly based on what I think that you want to hear and based on what the superintendent's report looks at place that what I'm hearing and that and it has not been very satisfying when there's two hundred different School legislation are all stars that that better so I was kind of looking at a weight make it more productive and get more input from the school and the board on what things that I should be tracking okay and so we also need to know the some of the school districts across the state Manchester in Portsmouth Ford they've actually established legislative committees standing committees and they have a process for review all of those things and discs and assigning what level of intervention invention and what level of advocacy that they want to do I don't see us doing that but part of the things are there process I want to bring up because I think we can do those things for instance if I know what are the themes then I will stay on top of the themes I can't stay on top of 14 different themes I think maybe three or four okay I hear a lot about education Freedom accounts and so we want to track the track that one but there's also other themes several of the same sister access to healthy food there's school safety there's unfunded things that are on funded mandates that it if if we want to track some people actually tracked those things and say we getting we want to post those civil rights on in Freedom of discrimination from discrimination there's maintaining local Authority discipline alternate alternative there's number of different things so I think for nhsp a liaison if you would be good if this board or with input from the administration could help us help me or whoever has this job in the future know what things to focus on now okay and so I would say no more than than three otherwise it becomes I'm pretty pretty boring otherwise I really don't have that much to do until the annual and the annual convention and I'd like to keep us all up to speed throughout throughout the year that's why I'm asking for us to can Sarah change in processor and responsibilities with more input just to let you know there are basically three different types of a difficulty that can be done when is to register position on on the legislative website and I think Rob has put that link in his report regularly okay I don't know how much of us are using that there's to submit a written statement supporter a position or position or to send in SAU representative to testify in person on giving bills now in the past we have outside of the nhava annual and convention we have as a board voted to do these it in in the past and I want to what we can do also is as the all of NHS be a liaison we're starting to have quarterly meetings with some of their nhps be a participant's Henniker Portsmouth Hampton in Manchester with some of the other participants for the NHS VA and find out if we have themes similar themes to them then it's we can put our voices together and I would be happy if I get this job again to continue to to go and testify in person but I would really like to have some up set some more input so let me suggest I do think it's probably a good thing for our nhmade in a inappropriate person to pick that up I do think it's important with the volume of legislation coming out of Concord now that we should be trying to track this probably a little more than just the superintendent's report if for no other reason than our perspectives are going to be different than his what we're going to be 4 are going to be different than what a superintendent is looking for I would suggest that you and I assuming that you stay in the position work with Shana pelkey to put together a Google whole monkey Survey Monkey type thing with Google monkey with the broad topics that are being covered in the legislation and put that out to the board and use that to develop a focused list initially and then I think we work from the we see how that goes and you start or the nhsp a liaison starts reporting on specific areas of interest each month and from there I think we'll start to be able to see what level of advocacy the board is comfortable with initially if you're making those reports then at least we can participate at the individual advocacy level well that that's right that I think that's a great start and I like that phased approach and I was hoping that we could do do something as well along those lines so is that something that we would schedule at the orientation meeting okay alright that's only 2 weeks out anyway in the election is between now and then so yeah I will tack that onto the agenda for the reorg meeting in terms of that to get you on that that's a board report please play how do you want to handle the administration and superintendent and you know teachers in Port we're going to share what were concerned about that's going to be very very public and if other people know that they'll either come and say why aren't you doing this or we agree with you that's how I'm anticipating this is going to play out that that's accurate I think we start with our own level of involvement and see how the community reacts to that okay alright that's a that's the end of my report thank u s a u 29 there's several sau29 board meetings coming up in the next couple of weeks these are not of the the high degree of importance ones you are welcome of course to come to the one scheduled on that Mark Rob is it March 29th that's that's the regular SAU board primarily that's going to be for a Accord Ln myself to introduce the this year's superintendent evaluation documentation and paperwork and what not to The Other Board chairs so as I say folks are welcome Comfort it's not an exciting one exciting one will be I want to see the first week of June and that's essentially that the SAU board's reorganization meeting because that'll be after everybody's elections and everybody's appointed their liaison what not but usually sometime in May but I don't remember the date I would have been scheduled for June but I would agree but I think it might because of the calendar I think it might have fallen like on June 3rd or something like that but it's it's in Rob's report and it's a ways out so oh a meeting 5:30
